Dr. David F. Westfall is a native of Glens Falls NY. Upon completing his medical degree at Albany Medical College, he subsequently performed his residency training in ophthalmic surgery at University Hospital in Syracuse NY. Since returning to Glens Falls in 2001, he has specialized in cataract surgery, and has performed thousands of successful cataract surgeries during this time. Today at Westfall Vision he continues a family tradition of excellence in eyecare that dates back more than 40 years in the Glens Falls area. Dr Westfall takes pride in being at the forefront of innovation in cataract surgery, and continues to bring new and exciting surgical technologies to our area.
After completing her undergraduate education at the University of Illinois, Dr. Kamaljit Singh Westfall ventured to the east coast to attend the SUNY State College of Optometry in New York City. She elected to complete a post-graduate residency program at the West Haven VA Medical Center in West Haven, CT, where she had the opportunity to work alongside Yale University Eye Center residents and faculty. During her residency, she spent half her time in the primary eye care clinic, and the rest of the time providing low vision care to the legally blind veterans in the Eastern Blind Rehabilitation Center. Kamal remained on staff as a part-time attending at the West Haven Veteran’s Hospital, for seven years. She was appointed as a clinical faculty member of the New England College of Optometry, through which she was involved with teaching optometry students and residents at the West Haven VAMC. Kamal also worked in a private ophthalmology practice in East Haven, CT as well as her own optometric practice, with her husband, Dr. Paul Westfall in Madison, CT prior to moving to Glens Falls in August 2011.
Kamal’s professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association. She is also certified by the American Board of Optometry. Outside of optometry, Kamal is a volunteer for the World Awareness Children’s Museum in Glens Falls. She is also a co-chair of the Touch-A-Truck community fundraiser in Glens Falls. Her hobbies include tennis, jogging, and leisurely family bike rides. She also loves to travel with her husband and two young boys, and enjoys anything to do with the beach.
Dr. Paul J. Westfall, joined Westfall Vision in September of 2011. Dr. Westfall received his undergraduate degree from Siena College and his professional degree from the SUNY College of Optometry. After receiving his optometry degree, Dr. Westfall elected to receive additional specialized training as a post-graduate optometry resident at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in West Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Westfall has also achieved board certification through the American Board of Optometry. Prior to returning to Glens Falls, Dr. Westfall spent several years in private practice in Connecticut. Dr. Westfall’s professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association, for which he has served as a regional president.
Dr. Paul Westfall is a native of Glens Falls and a graduate of Glens Falls High School. He is excited to return to the region to join practice with his wife and brother. His goal is to provide quality eye care for the people of upstate New York, a tradition started by his father, F. Franklin Westfall Jr. MD in 1973! Outside of work, Paul most enjoys the time spent with his wife and two boys.
